For Sale By Owner

Navigation:  Home > Real Estate Law> For Sale By Owner

It is possible to avoid paying out real estate commission to a broker by selling your property directly. This is called FSBO, or For Sale by Owner.

However, even if you are selling your property by yourself, you are still subject to the laws and rules of a real estate broker or agent in your state, which can often be complicated. In general, it takes very good selling skills as well, including the ability to negotiate, set prices, and close. FSBOs are ideal for people who are in no hurry to sell their property, or in a real estate market where competition is fierce.
