Bioethics deals with ethical issues in the fields of health care, medicine, and biology, specifically with the examination of the moral issues involved in the understanding of life, an important concept as science and medicine develop new techniques that prolong life. The problems most associated with bioethics are the relationship between medical technology and human values, and, in turn, which medical technologies to pursue. A frequent topic in bioethics, for instance, is cloning and medical assisted suicide. Bioethics basically involves asking questions about when life begins, when it ends, and what means should be employed to ensure its continuation. The questions form the basis for health care and medical research.
